Just take a look at <a href="http://www.opensource.org/licenses/alphabetical">this list from OSI</a>, 72 in all to choose from.<span id="more-211"></span>So where should one start?</p>
<p>Well thankfully, <a href="http://www.gskinner.com/blog/archives/2008/07/source_code_lic_1.html">Grant Skinner</a> has compiled an good starting point for anyone to understand. The importance of a license is quite overlooked when it comes to flash developers and securing the rights to ones code.</p>
<p>A few of the mentioned that I&#8217;ve used over years:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/gpl.html">GPL</a></li>
<p></p>
<li><a href="http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/lgpl.html">LGPL</a></li>
<p></p>
<li><a href="http://creativecommons.org/">Creative Commons</a></li>
<p></p>
<li><a href="http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php">MIT</a></li>
